Have you heard of that Pinterest trend to have a "gender reveal party?"...well it's really fun! I didn't do it with my first two, so we decided to throw a party for the third! And I'm glad we did!
We were in Olympia for General Conference weekend, so we got together as a family between sessions to discover the gender of our next baby!
I went in for my ultrasound the Thursday before. Jeff and I told the doctor we didn't want to know the gender and they put the results in a sealed envelope. Boy, was I tempted to peek! Jeff and I couldn't tell what the baby was from the ultrasound at all. The technician was really good at keeping a secret and we couldn't tell what we were looking at anyway. :) So we left with no clue!
I went to the store with my Mom and bought a cute little boy's outfit and a little girl's outfit. I gave the outfits and the sealed envelope to my friend who graciously wrapped the corresponding outfit in a present and we drove to Olympia.
Saturday we watched conference and then had the party after the second session before the guys all left for Priesthood. I was wondering all day what it would be...a boy or a girl?? I guessed boy...I think the boy outfit was cuter and for no particular reason just thought it was a boy. Jeff had thought all along that it was another girl. We were both genuinely happy either way...which is a nice way to feel! No pressure or disappointment. Just excitement!
We had a yummy dinner all together...
My Mom made a chocolate bundt cake with pink and blue sprinkles...
And then it was time for the reveal...the moment we'd all been waiting for!
Jeff and I unwrapped the present and I got a shock...it was another girl! I was so teary thinking of another baby girl joining our family...just thrilled!
Happy parents, either way.
Can't wait to meet our third little princess! We've got the baby girl mold all ready to go! ha ha.
