The Saturday before Rosalyn's birthday we went to Fox Hollow Farm in Issaquah. We had never been, but I heard from other parents how fun it was. So we decided to give it a try! It was a hit! Can't wait to go back!
My Mom and Claire joined us!
So many fun things to do! Where do you start?!?
Rosalyn liked the horses...
She was just a little too small to ride the tractors around, she couldn't reach the pedal. So cute seeing all these kids riding around and around! Maybe next year.
Both girls had fun in the bounce house! They jumped for a long time!
We rode the little train around and around. Fun times for the kiddos!
Fox Hollow Farm couldn't be in a prettier spot. It is surrounded by mountains and greenery everywhere! We couldn't get over it. So picturesque.
And then it was time for a pony ride! First time for the girls...
They both liked it and looked so cute in the big riding helmets. ha.
They liked the little neighborhood of play houses, complete with play things indoors. I want this little house in my back yard!
We finished off the day by playing with the goats. Brielle was in heaven. She likes goats more than anything!
Rosalyn liked chasing the ducks all over...
Fun times at Fox Hollow Farm!
The following Wednesday Rosalyn turned 2!
She wanted cereal for breakfast.
Birthday Girl selfie!
We had fun at Music Time on her birthday. I've been holding a little toddler music class at our house. It was a fun morning with friends!
After playing outside and eating lunch, she was worn out. She got to have a snooze in my bed for her birthday!
After more play-time, we went to McDonald's and then had a backyard picnic for dinner.
Jeff had to work later that day. We were all anxious for him to come home so we could eat birthday cookie cake!
Sweet, new 2 year old!
Happy Birthday Roz!
She got a dinosaur costume to play with for her birthday. It was promptly taken over by her big sister who wears it around the house. ha ha. Such is the life of a second child!
Here are some things I want to remember about Rosalyn at 2 years old:
- Everything goes in her mouth. She is always putting things in her mouth that shouldn't be there...we have to watch her as vigilantly as we did when she was 8 months old! ha. She will eat things that don't taste good...repeatedly. For example, she is always chewing on sidewalk chalk that we have in our back yard!
- She went through a 2 week hair-pulling stage. She has now stopped and knows she shouldn't do that to other kids. Now she is going through a pushing stage and will push kids randomly. She's 2 and learning her boundaries!
- She loves her little stuffed doll we call "Dolly." She sleeps with is and carries it around the house sometimes. We don't let her take it out of the house. Can't lose it!
- She sucks her thumb only when she's tired and falling asleep.
- She loves swimming and bath time.
- She doesn't like having hair in her face. If I don't pull it out of her eyes, she is constantly pushing it out of her face. She doesn't make a fuss about it, I've just noticed it.
- She loves to count and say her ABC's.
- She is a good climber at the playground and has no fear of heights yet. She will climb up to the top of the playground equipment and slide down the big slides meant for older children. She likes to go head first on her belly.
- Because she has Brielle to keep up with, she is further developed in some skills than other 2 year olds. She's had to learn things faster and physically develop to keep up. The doctor says she's ahead of schedule for her age because of that.
- She is a good sleeper. She takes 2 hour naps and sleeps through the night without a peep.
- I haven't cut her hair yet. She has pretty curls at the end that I will be sad to lose when I do! She has a little cow lick on the back of her head.
- She likes to walk around with her eyes closed. I've never seen a child do this. ha. She will walk around and bump into things. She likes to eat food with her eyes closed too. She will feel around on her plate. It always cracks me up when she does that!
We love our Rozzy Bear!
