Brielle is three years old!
What a cute, happy three year old. We are so happy she is ours!
The weekend before her birthday, we met up with my family and took the girls to Chuck E Cheese. My parents were really excited about this because they took me there for my third birthday. So it's tradition!
We had a great time, and Brielle asks often to go back to "Chuck Cheeses."
Brielle loved the "big mouse" and especially liked dancing with him!
Fun to go to Chuck E. Cheese and have an early birthday celebration with family!
And then it was her birthday...
She wanted toast for breakfast.
We played outside and she flew around in her butterfly wings...
I made a cake in the shape of a three!
I put the cake on the table to get a picture of it. Before I knew it, both girls were up on the table licking it! It was hilarious! I'm glad I got a picture of it. And then I had to put it up high where they couldn't reach it until Jeff came home. She had to wait till Daddy came home from work to eat her cake and open her presents!
She had so much fun blowing out the candles after being a little unsure at first. Then we ran out of matches because she wanted to blow them out over and over again! ha.
Yum!!
She got a microphone that really works from my parents. Both girls love singing into it and make a lot of noise. :) They are constantly singing.
Jeff and I gave Brielle a big box of dress-up clothes and accessories I've been saving. I'm excited for her to start using her imagination and dressing up in costume! Let the fun begin!
And now, a little about Brielle. I wrote a lot down for her baby book, but here's some things I want to remember about her:
Brielle Lori Tolsma
Age 3
- She sings nursery rhymes all day long. She sings them when she wakes up and as she falls to sleep.
- She loves books and reads them in her crib as she falls to sleep. She will sleep with books all around her and I go in and move them out of the way each night. We read books often during the day.
- She loves watching TV shows. They are the only thing that fully keep her attention. Her favorites are ones with lots of singing in them. If there isn't music every few minutes, she gets bored and turns it off! She loves to act out what she sees in shows. For example, Daniel Tiger was sick during one episode. After she watched it, she laid on the couch and acted sick throughout the day. I have to be careful with what she watches since I know she will act it out later! ha ha.
- She loves to play with Play Dough.
- She loves to color and draw. She loves to do puzzles.
- She loves to ride her tricycle in the back yard.
- She still likes sleeping in her crib. She will climb in for bedtime and stay there all night. She will climb out in the morning and knock on her door when she's awake and ready to get up. She will be quiet if Rosalyn is still sleeping. That's pretty amazing to me!
- She likes to say our family prayer.
- She likes to look for spiders outside. When she sees one, she will sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider song at the top of her lungs!
- She is a great big sister to Rosalyn. She is very good at sharing and helping her. She's attentive to Rosalyn's needs and emotions most of the time. She has to be the one to give Rosalyn her sippy cup of milk each morning, for example.
- She picked up potty training really fast! She was ready.
- She is sweet and affectionate and we love her tons!
