Jeff and I have been out and about around Seattle and we've seen our share of interesting sights and unique people. There are two particular events that still make me laugh even now.....
Funny #1
We were at a festival downtown and it was packed. Tons of people were walking on the streets eating fair food and going between the booths. As we were meandering around I looked over and saw a couple pushing a stroller. Naturally, I looked into the stroller to get a quick peek of the baby inside (as my pregnant self is prone to do) and to my surprise......
there was a CAT in the stroller! I couldn't believe my eyes. This couple had brought their CAT to the street fair and were pushing it around in a special "pet" stroller. I have been cracking up about this ever since. What went through their mind?..."let's take our pet CAT to the festival! She'll love it!" The next weekend I saw a man carrying his small dog in a baby carrier on his back. Again, what went through his mind?
Apparently you can buy pet strollers....I never knew these existed! Here's one for sale on Amazon:
It's about the same price as a regular stroller for a BABY, otherwise I might consider it as a cheap alternative for our little one. Ha ha...
Funny #2
We were at a festival when I went inside a building to use the restroom (again, as my pregnant self is prone to do). I walked down the hallway where there were two restroom entrances, each with this sign outside the doors:
I paused. Where were the usual "Women/Men" signs? Which bathroom should I go in??? I took my chances and entered one and was relieved to see a girl already in there. Just so you realize how weird this was ---these were not one-stall restrooms...it had 10 or so stalls in it. With no identification as to if it was for men or women. A man walked in and saw us girls at the sink and immediately looked startled and headed out the door for the other restroom. I wanted to invite him back in...hey, it's gender neutral in here, buddy!
What a WEIRD experience! Call me old-fashioned, but I like knowing which restroom is for females. :)
