Nativity 2010

I've been working on preparing the nativity production for a long time now....we had it this weekend and it went great!
For 15+ years now our stake has been doing a nativity weekend. They fill the stake center with nativity sets and go all out to create an amazing celebration of Christmas. It takes months to plan and is a HUGE event. The stake center was transformed last weekend with lights, trees, poinsettias and hundreds of nativities. This year, they added a musical production to it all. They had a 60-person orchestra and choir (made up of stake members!) that performed a beautiful selection of Christmas music timed to a video and live nativity performance. My job was to create the live nativity portion. I recruited actors, found and made costumes, created props, and helped design the set and all the elements.
It was stressful to complete, but worth it in the end! Jeff joined me over the weekend to help with the technical elements. It was fun! We were at the church the entire weekend and I am still on a spiritual high from it all. What a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season!
