We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in Washington! It was heavenly to be with family for the holiday. We ate yummy food, relaxed and enjoyed the vacation from our busy life.
It was a weekend of "firsts."
1. For the first time in my life, I actually liked a dog.
Here we are on a walk around the block with the new family dog ...Fluffy. She was given to my family by a ward member who couldn't take care of her. She is quite hilarious and badly needs a good grooming. I think I warmed up to a dog for the first time in my life over the weekend. :) She was fun to have around!
2. For the first time I went to Snoqualmie Falls which was quite beautiful. It was an unexpected trip to save my brother stranded with a broken down car....but it turned out to be fun! I got to see the town of Snowqualmie, which I never knew existed!

We enjoyed the great (cold!) outdoors.... It was cold in Washington! I wasn't ready for snow and winter after running around in short sleeves in Texas. Brr!
3. For the first time I had a bad bingo game. I am usually the master at the annual family Bingo party after Thanksgiving. I had a bum bingo card I'll blame it on. But we still had a fun time with all the goofy prizes!
4. My first time in a mini cooper...loved it! My mom got one for her birthday (way to go dad!) and we drove around town in style. My only regret: that we didn't drive during the day time so I could see everyone looking at us. :)
I love seeing my dad carve the turkey. That's what dad's are for. :)
5. This was my first time seeing my brother and my cousin help out with Thanksgiving cooking. Way to go boys!
mmm... what an amazing meal we had! No one does Thanksgiving like Kathy Bates! yummy yummy in my tummy!
We had a great trip not only with fun "firsts" but also things we do every time we visit....like shop at Romy, watch lots of movies, analyze my brother Jeff's love life, play the board game Risk, and talk talk talk. Thanks for a fun trip Bates family!
