A day in the life of the Tolsma's

Every now and then I like to write in my journal about a typical day so I can read it in years to come and remember what life was like back then. It is fun to see how your priorities change and what you spend your time on. So I thought I would share a slice of our life today which is probably only interesting to our mothers. Ha.

*This morning we rolled out of bed....sleepy from going to bed way to late due to a busy evening. Jeff took my car to work since he had to drive 45 minutes to Denton where he would be meeting mortgage brokers in the afternoon for lunch. My Camry gets better gas mileage than his jeep. He made it to work at 8am.
*I didn't have to go in to work till ten so I spent the morning organizing and reviewing health insurance brochures that Jeff brought home yesterday. His job is changing health insurance plans, and we have many more decisions to make about what coverages we want. Do we risk it and not get dental? Will I fall and break all my teeth and wish we had it?? That is what I was weighing this morning. :) So many different prices and coverages this time around with the new program....should we try Aflac? The talking duck is cute. :) Ha.
*I went to work and worked hard till I had to leave for my outreach show. I am the outreach director at the theater and we are performing every Thursday and Friday this month for elementary schools. It is the same show I directed last Fall...the one about personal safety. The hitch today was: one of my actor's couldn't get out of a college class to do the show so I had to play the part! Ack. I was memorizing the lines the night before. We packed up the truck and drove to the show. I got to practice it once with the other actors before performing it, and I didn't do too bad. It was actually fun! But I hope I won't have to fill in last minute again. :)
* Jeff had a great sales day...he finished 3rd in the company out of 65 agents. He rocks. He was a happy man today. Ha ha. He's getting a lot of referrals from mortgage brokers which is an awesome way to work.
* After outreach I went back to the theater to teach my musical production class that I team-teach. My kids are learning the show "Mary Poppins" and we did a run-through of the show. It was a little rough, it was the first time they couldn't use their scripts.
* Jeff and I met up at home, and left to go to his softball game. He had a double-header. First game they lost bad, the second one they lost by one point. killer. But Jeff played super well and was the first hitter in the lineup. (I hear that's a good thing! Ha.)
* And now it is 11pm and we are both winding down for bed. Late again. Jeff's checking out the stock market on his laptop, and I'm blogging. He's listening to the new Scorpions album...I've heard these songs over and over every day this week. :)

Off to bed. What new adventures will tomorrow bring??
