Birthday weekend

It was Grandpa Whitehead's 85th birthday!! Jeff's mom planned a fun party with lots of help from family to celebrate Grandpa's life. The party was themed "Blast from the past" and went through the decades of Grandpa's life. Jeff & I flew up to Ogden, Utah for the party. We decorated the church and went all out with costumes from the decades. There were lots of people there to celebrate and it was quite the party! He arrived in style in his red mustang...

Grandpa got to sit in the chair of honor at the front while we watched a slide show of his life and played some games. Notice his outfit? Lori dressed him up....I liked his socks. :)

Here's Jeff's mom with her sister starting the party....they were rockin' some funky wigs. :)

Jeff was asked to MC the party, so that was fun. He did a great job and got the crowd excited. He cracked tons of jokes and made it really fun! He was the perfect guy for the job.

They introduced him as "Dick Clark".....I thought he should keep this suit for his job as an insurance salesman.....doesn't that look like what an insurance salesman would wear?!

Grandpa had a button that said "It's my birthday! I can do whatever I want." It made me laugh every time I saw it.

I decided to try out my black & white for these next pictures...

I wore a poodle skirt and funky sweater to the birthday party, and changed to a swing outfit for the ward party that night. Yes, Jeff's mom planned 2 parties in one day. Jeff & I did a swing dance for the ward party which was really fun. I'm still kicking myself that we didn't film it. That would have been fun to have.

Here are the two movies I took at Grandpa's birthday party. One is of Jeff starting the party, and the other is before the party showing the decorations. It was such a fun weekend, and was a great celebration of a great life!
