We had a perfect Halloween weekend. It was fun and festive and just what I was hoping for!
The night before Halloween, we debuted our costumes at the Bellevue ward trunk or treat. It was fun to see everyone in costume. We stayed for dinner and the costume parade.
On Halloween, we made "Pumpkin Pizza" together...it was yummy! And the girls loved making the dough and helping with the face.
It was pouring rain on Halloween night. Bummer for lots of kids! We decided to head over to the mall like we have the past 3 years. We got our costumes on, and took some pictures before heading out!
My belly was an Asteroid, Brielle was a Dinosaur, Rosalyn a Cave Woman and Jeff a Cave Man.
Brielle really likes dinosaurs, so she was excited to wear it. I knew I could get her to wear this costume for sure on the night of. :)
We went over to the mall where you can trick or treat at every store. It was so fun to see everyone in costume and so excited!
I think she's the cutest cave-woman I've ever seen:
Because it was raining, everyone had the same idea we had...it was packed! And a lot of the stores had run out of candy. We made our way to the outside edge of stores and the girls got some that way.
Everytime they would get a piece of candy, they would sit down right where they were to look at it and try to open it. Hilarious! They ended up eating a lot that night.
We drove back to our neighborhood and saw that the rain had stopped and there were kids going door-to-door. So we jumped out and taught the girls how to trick-or-treat to homes. They were fast learners. :) They LOVED it and kept running from house to house. It was just joyful as a parent to watch them have so much fun. And look so cute. :)
We came back to our place and they were bouncing off the walls. It was harder to fall asleep that night, but it was such a fun Halloween with kids. Worth the sugar-high!
