Another birthday to celebrate!!
Jeff and I went out for cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. It was delicious, as always! We tried to stay out late and have a nice date...but we were both falling asleep at the table - so exhausted! So we came home early. Ha! Funny memory for us!
Jeff's birthday was on Friday, so he had to work. So we celebrated all weekend...and a few days before and after. :) We ate yummy orange rolls from the Deseret Book bakery, opened presents and watched a movie. We went to a ward party the night of his birthday, and a little girl in primary that knows our family well got up on the microphone in front of everyone and called him up to have everyone sing to him. It was really sweet and cute!
On Saturday, my parents and Claire drove up to party some more with us. They then watched the girls so Jeff and I could go out on jet skis on Lake Washington. A few weeks before his birthday, I asked him what he wanted to do...and we kept coming back to riding jet skis. Lucky for us, the weather was still beautiful all through September, so we got to go out and enjoy the most perfect day!
Here's the marina. We didn't take our cameras because we were afraid we would get soaked (we did!) So all I have is sweet memories in my mind of racing across the water on a jet ski. Here's a picture from the rental website:
It was such a gorgeous day, on a gorgeous lake, with million + dollar homes along the water and Mt. Rainier in the background. We each got a jet ski and rode out on the water. The water was really choppy at first and I was nervous the first 10 minutes of capsizing. But then as we got further out, it calmed down and we zipped all over! In all our years of marriage, we've never rode jet skis together. It was so fun! We raced all over and did "donuts" in the water and splashed each other. At one point I even yelled "eat my wake!" and raced off for him to catch me. ha! We were young, wild and free. :) This is going to have to be a birthday tradition I think!
What else did we do in September besides eat cake?
One Sunday we went on a walk to Seward's Park across the water near Seattle. It is a pretty park and we enjoyed some nice family time. We just love being in the great outdoors as much as we can!
I couldn't get a picture of Rosalyn without a pine cone in her mouth.
We painted a birthday present for my Mom:
We attended stake conference. Can you spot Brielle in between the chairs? We had to get there early because Jeff was helping with parking. I had the fun task of entertaining the kiddos. They were entertained enough by the chairs.
We ate cheese by the handful on the counter:
Rosalyn continued to climb whatever she can:
We played at parks and I enjoyed the static electricity in my girls' hair!
I went and saw Mallory King (cousin Bradley's wife) in Chorus Line. The dancing was amazing.
We got passes to the Children's Museum. I expect to spend a few days a week there in the winter. It is 10 minutes away.
Brielle liked this little bouncer animal and I liked watching her take it across the room. Ha!
She likes the little bunny hutch and stuffed bunnies. Just like Grandma's!
We went to Alkai Beach on the west side of Seattle. Gorgeous! It's one of our favorite spots for pretty views.
Brielle continues to include the blue parrot in our daily routine. I've named him Percy.
We've had amazing weather this Fall. Yesterday I wanted to wear shorts! But we have also had the occasional rain storm...we got to try out our rain gear. It works!
