Goodbye Jay...

I am missing Jay Leno and the Tonight Show.  I watched him for years and years.  I liked hearing his monologue jokes, Jaywalking, and interviews with stars.  I would usually watch him while I'm cleaning....just having some background noise and something to make me laugh and smile while I do boring work. I was also able to keep up on pop culture this way, and got most of my news about current events through him! ha ha.

Sometimes I'd watch him while eating lunch.  Even Brielle liked him.
I remember watching Jay Leno with my family....my dad quickly changing the channel if there was a bad joke. Ha ha. He was on the air for 22 years....so he's been around all my life.
I read his biography - Leading With My Chin. It's a fun, great read.  I'd loan you my edited copy if you are around and want to read it. :)

He's had a crazy life. So many funny things and stories in this book. Here's a little story from his childhood from his book just for fun.....his parents were having a huge party with all of their adult friends...

"I had gone up to bed, but I'd crept back to the top of the stairs to eavesdrop on the party below.  They were talking and laughing and having a good time, and I wanted so badly to be down there where the action was.  So I hatched a plan: I would make a big showbiz entrance! I would slide down the banister in my pajamas, hit the bottom, land on my feet, and go, "ta daaaa!" ......
So I balanced myself on the top of the banister and slid approximately one inch.  That was it.  Suddenly, I fell like a nuclear missile--straight through a table with a lamp on it.  There was a huge crash as the table collapsed and the lamp shattered.  Everybody jumped up from the card game, scared out of their minds.  But what an entrance! My parents rushed me to the hospital, where my spleen had to be removed.  Which was so cool to me at the time--well worth giving up an insignificant body part.  I've never really missed my spleen anyway."

I've been listening to Jimmy Fallon now, and he's funny too. I just watch him the next day on Hulu.com....unlike the rest of the USA watching late at night. I like that his tag line is to "make you go to bed smiling." I think that's just great. There's so much negative things in the world, it's so great to laugh!
