Out and about

We've been out and about doing fun things and exploring more of our new home here!

We met up with our good friends Brian & Lisa who were visiting Seattle for the weekend. We spent the day with them and took a ferry ride to nearby Bainbridge Island. We enjoyed exploring the island, eating good food and headed back to downtown Seattle for more fun.  So great to see them again!
Lisa and I both had bulging pregnant bellies which gave us some good laughs...you gotta keep the pregnant wives happy!
Jeff and Brian met while working at TWG....and we've been friends ever since, even though they moved and now live in Arizona.

Here is a movie of our view on the ferry...it was a blast!

Last weekend we went on a camping trip with our church. It was so much fun! The church owns a huge campground called Ensign Ranch. There's TONS to do there...horseback riding, archery, ropes course, canoeing, fishing, swimming, cabins, bathrooms...do I need to go on? It is a perfect place for a family reunion...Jeff and I are already planning ours in 20 years. :)

Jeff and I were in charge of the campfire program Friday night. Of course, he had to play the guitar...you can't have a campfire without a hunk on a guitar!....and s'mores.  He played with our friend who is amazing at the Irish flute & pennywhistle. They sounded awesome together and got the crowd up dancing some Irish jigs. It was great. We did some trivia & prizes, I taught a pioneer square dance, and we had a storyteller. It turned out great!

We slept in a canvas tepee. It was huge for just the 2 of us! They have these all over the campground so that made it easy...we didn't have to set up a tent. Notice our suitcases in the foreground? All of our camping gear is in storage...so we had to pack in our suitcases. Hilarious! I was just pretending I was camping in a hotel....that's my type of camping.

The next day they had lots of activities going on.  I just love this awkward picture of Jeff doing a relay race with a bouncy ball. :)

I was looking forward to the archery. I think it is so fun! I should get my parents to buy an archery set and put it in their backyard. They've got room. :) Jeff was amazing at it...here he is:
Yep, he was almost perfect. "I haven't done this in a while..." he said...as he gets a bulls eye over and over again. :)

I didn't do too bad myself....and I admit I felt hard core shooting arrows while pregnant. :)

We spent Father's day with my Pop.  Yep, I call him Pop in case anyone was wondering. He's the best Pop in the whole world! How lucky I am! He's such a great example to me and I enjoy hearing about his adventures owning his own business and lately seeing him become the Chamber of Commerce Chairman. Love you Pop!
Here's the kids...minus Marie at BYU who was missed!

Jeff and I have a favorite lookout spot we discovered....it's at the golf course on Cougar Mountain. You can see everything from there....downtown Seattle, downtown Bellevue, the mountain range all around. It is breathtaking and we love going up there! Come for a visit, and we'll take you up there!
