This month Jeff and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. How has it already been 4 years?! Time flies when you're having fun I guess!
We decided to celebrate our anniversary at the most insanely romantic location in all of Texas:
That's right! We celebrated our love at the World's Largest Honky Tonk. What is a Honky Tonk, you say? I'm not sure what the definition is, but it is fun!
We've never gone before, but we've always wanted to check it out. It is a hoppin' place around here, and we weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into. Our night started out by us buying a ticket at the door and me trying to get in without my driver's license. (I left my purse in the car) Why do we need ID??? we asked. The guy couldn't tell us...and looked really confused...finally he said, "aren't you going to drink?" Ha! No wonder they were giving us funny looks when I didn't bring my ID with me...no, we weren't drinking. "Ok," he shrugged and didn't know what to do with us and let us in without proper identification. :) Whew!
We walked in and we were blown away. Billy Bob's is a HUGE building (3 acres big) with all sorts of entertainment and cowboy decor all over the place. They have a huge stage, seating, & dance floor that has a huge diamond-saddle used as a custom disco-ball. :)

There was a big bar in the middle, live pro bull-riding, a restaurant, gift shop, and country music star memorabilia all over the place. Famous performances at Billy Bob's: Garth Brooks, Reba, Willie Nelson, Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine, Ringo Starr, .38 Special, Men At Work, The Go-Go's, Steppenwolf, & ZZ Top. Even Bob Hope performed onstage at Billy Bob's Texas.
The building is just one big room and can fit 6,000 people there....I believe it! It was covered with things to do and see. I wish we would have known about this place so we could have taken our visitors there! It was just hilarious!
Jeff and I enjoyed a BBQ dinner, live band, and even pretended to country dance on the dance floor with all the other couples in boots and hats. It was a blast, and a unique way to spend our anniversary.
The highlight of the night was getting my picture taken next to the World's Largest Belt Buckle.
