Our world population hit 7,000,000,000 people on October 31st.
That's 7 BILLION people.
According to the news, the 7 billionth baby was Danica Camacho of the Phillipeans. I don't know how they decided this particular baby was the one, but she is considered the 7 billionth. She was showered with gifts and attention from all over the world.
Now 7 BILLION is incredibly hard for me to even fathom. But I recently read this in Time magazine that put it in perspective:
"If you packed the world's population in at New York City's density, we would fit inside the state of Texas."
That's 7 BILLION people.
