In honor of Lucille Ball - "Queen of Comedy"

I grew up watching re-runs of the TV show "I Love Lucy." I loved this show, and cracked up at all of Lucy's crazy antics. They just don't make shows like this anymore. :) She had the best facial expressions, and perfected comedic timing. She was the reason I wanted to be in plays, and my inspiration as I got more involved in theater.

One of my favorite episodes: Vitameatavegamin. I dare you to watch this and not crack a smile. :)

If she was still alive she would have been 100 years old on August 6th. In honor of her, here is what I've been up to in the theater world this week:

Overseeing 2 sessions of our Fairy Tale Camp for 3-5 year olds. This is the most adorable age...they say the funniest things and are so stinkin' cute! Every day this week they had a new fairy tale to act out, made crafts, costumes and pooped out the teachers. :)

After a long week of Tech Week practicing late into the night, I had opening night for Hello Dolly on Friday night! Yippee, it went well! I will perform 3 nights a week throughout the month of August. I am playing Minnie Fay which has been quite fun! Here I am in my first costume:

Do I look 16? I have to be a 16 year old in this show. :)

Thanks Lucille Ball for getting me inspired to do theater!

But the real thanks goes to my parents....driving me to and from rehearsals all the time, comforting me when I didn't get the parts I wanted, paying for voice/acting/dance lessons and listening to me rehearse my lines over and over again :)

And of course thanks to my husband, Jeff who ate cereal for dinner every night this week because I was at rehearsal. And for the flowers he brought me on opening night!
