Home sweet Home!

We did it! We bought our first house. It was surprisingly easy...no bumps or issues. We signed the papers on Friday afternoon and became homeowners of a cute 3 bedroom home in Bedford, TX. I balanced the camera on the mailbox and got our first picture of us with this home.

This post is going to be random....I took my camera around the house Friday night, and documented a few things about the home that we like...to give you something to look at until you all come visit us!

Ah, I have my very own mailbox! I don't know why, but that is just exciting to me for some reason. :)
There is a nice kitchen that I am excited about too....and we discovered Friday night that there is a water filter under the sink for drinking water! That is exciting because the water in Bedford is grooooss.

Nice oven and range....I am excited for this style because it is flat and easy to clean. Mom, I'm sorry to say that I have a nicer kitchen than yours at the moment. :) Ha!
This is what Jeff is excited about: a storage shed! Now all we need are tools to put in it. :)
This is what I'm excited about....a potential garden. There isn't anything growing in it, it doesn't look like the owners before us planted anything. It is going to need A LOT of work, but I think it might be fun to start. We'll see how I feel about gardening in a couple months. :)
There are all sorts of plants and trees in our yard....we don' t know what they are. If anyone knows, help us out!

I like the mirror in the guest bathroom. I was shocked that they left it...maybe they forgot it? But I love it! oooh look at cute Jeff.
This fan is something we didn't notice before.... ha ha....this could use an update. Or maybe I'll just have a German-themed room??? :)

The fan below is a Texas thing: A lot of homes here have these fans in the bathroom that heat up coils when you turn them on. I guess they are nice to have in the winter? But there isn't a regular fan in the bathroom....no wonder everyone complains about mold here.

Here's another thing we discovered on Friday.....Christmas light hooks! Yippee! I am so excited to hang lights for Christmas, and this will make Jeff's job easy. :) There are these clear hooks all along the roof. Our home is going to look like the Griswald's. Hee hee (movie: Christmas Vacation.)

Here we go! We've entered the home-ownership stage of our lives....
