I am just getting around to posting about our fun visitors in August!
I didn't have much to post about our month of July besides when Jason's family came. And August was the same. Being terribly sick with morning sickness, those months were a blur and frankly, I don't have much to write about. :) Now I'm feeling much better and am getting back to blogging!
So here we go!
I hardly took any pictures of this trip. If that isn't a clear sign I wasn't myself with morning sickness, I don't know what is! ha.
So here's a few that I took in addition to our itinerary:
Friday, August 7th - Jeff's sister Jenny, her husband Ben and kids Tyler & Tucker drove into town at 11pm. We were so excited to have them visit us and we were looking forward to their visit and seeing their cute kids.
Saturday, August 8th- We enjoyed a lazy morning talking and catching up. Jeff, Ben & Tyler went and threw a football while the Moms and Little Ones took naps. We later got KFC with the intention of having a picnic dinner at Rattlesnake Lake. We got into some terrible traffic along the way and we were stopped for a while...so needless to say dinner was mainly eaten in the car. I will forever have this great mental image of Jenny hanging out the sunroof in the car behind us, dancing and cheering when we started moving. She's ever a cheerleader! ha. That brought a much-needed smile to my face. We made it to the lake and had fun there. We stopped at Snoqualmie Falls on the way home. Beautiful weather and fun company!
Sunday, August 9th- We all went to church together. Here's the cute kids all dressed up:
We took the gang to the Newcastle overlook that we love to take visitors to. You get a great view of Seattle and Bellevue up there. We went on a little hike to the old Cougar Mountain Coal Mines. Tyler kept his eye out for bears and cougars. Ben left to go to Seattle for his work conference and the rest of us went and played at Newcastle Beach Park.
Monday, August 10th - Fun morning catching up with Jenny and talking to Tyler about the Harry Potter books. Jeff had the great idea of watching the kids so Jenny could stay with Ben in Seattle for some kid-free time. Jenny left for Seattle, and Jeff took Tyler bowling.
I stayed with the toddlers and we played in the backyard together. These three were so cute together and got along really well for being so close in age.
Then we all walked to our neighborhood park together and finished off the night playing hard.
Tuesday, August 11th - We went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle together. It was a perfect day to walk around the zoo and the animals were really interactive. The lions were especially entertaining and unforgettable. Tyler got to "high five" a lion at the viewing window and that was a highlight for all to see!
We chased our toddler animals all over the zoo.
We came home for much-needed naps and then went out to dinner at Mod's Pizza. We then showed Jenny where Jeff's office is and walked around it. It's fun to take visitors to Bellevue, such a pretty city.
Wednesday, August 12th - Jenny, Tyler & Tucker left for Seattle in the morning to join Ben who was still at his work conference. Jeff went back to work for the day and I did chores and errands. Jenny & the boys explored Seattle with a Seattle Pass to lots of places.
Thursday, August 13th - Jeff took a half day off work and we met up with Ben, Jenny & the boys in Seattle at their hotel. We went swimming in their hotel pool and then went out to eat at Cheesecake Factory! Brielle asked every day afterwards when we could go swimming again. It was a hit. I wanted to know when we could go to Cheesecake Factory again. :)
We said our goodbyes that night as they had a flight the next morning back to Austin, TX. It was great to have them here and gave me something to look forward to in the midst of feeling nauseated. We loved playing with Tyler & Tucker and seeing their personalities in person instead of being so far away. Such cute kids!
