I never did a blog post for June. I didn't think I had much to blog about. Just enjoying the lazy days of summer. But then I went through my pictures and realized there was lots to document. So, here we go!
Jeff and I went on a date...I planned a hike while we were kiddo-free! It was beautiful and we love walking in the beautiful Washington scenery.
My brother Jeff celebrated his 30th birthday! We got together at Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed a yummy feast.
After our meal, we went to iFly...an indoor skydiving place. We were up for an adventure on Jeff's 30th birthday! I was nervous since I don't like heights, and it's a long way down, even if there was wire mesh under me. But it was a super fun, unique experience!
Waiting for our turn to go...
Everyone did a really great job flying. It was fun to see my family do something together that put us all out of our comfort zones! :)
We've had an unusually hot summer for Seattle. In the high 80's and 90's. We survive by playing in water.
Jeff buckled down and bought a portable AC unit which has changed our life in our hot house. It is my most favorite purchase of the year! Not many people have AC here...so it's been rough on everyone. We at least have one room that is nice and chilly when we come in from outside. :)
Early June was spent potty training Brielle. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen and bathroom. She got it really fast! I can't complain. She was ready and adjusted quicker than I expected. Big change at our house!
I have always wanted a little stage in my playroom for my kids. Now we have room for one! So Jeff and I spent a few nights on my project. I wanted to build it myself...I created the plan and measurements with help from my Dad and put it together with help from Jeff. I told him I wanted to be in charge of the power tools and do all the screws. :) It was fun to create something!
We sanded the edges
And spray-painted it black
Now I need to upload a picture of the finished product. We've had lots of fun seeing the girls dance on the little stage.
In June we had our last Music Time class for a summer break. I have really enjoyed participating in this class with the girls for 2 years. They love the music, the kids and I love the interaction with other moms. I can't wait for it to start up again in the Fall.
Our friend, Janneke from BYU Folk Dance days came to visit! She just moved to Portland. We had fun seeing her kids and catching up.
We celebrated Father's Day in June. I gave Jeff an awesome Father's Day gift...but I'll put that in a separate post. So stay tuned! :)
Jeff is such a great Dad. He loves his little girls, and they just adore him.
They squeal and run to him when he gets home from work. They can't wait for daddy to come home.
His favorite spot with his two girlies on his lap, watching Mormon Messages. The girls always want to watch Mormon Messages on his phone with him. Ha! They sit and cuddle and he loves it.
Claire performed in her Stake Dance Festival...so of course I had to go watch her perform! They spent many months practicing and preparing, and it was fun to see the final outcome. She was a star of course! She's got a lot of dance experience, so she definitely stood out from the others. And I can say that because I'm a proud sister. :)
And the rest of the June days we relaxed on the couch. Trying to keep cool in the lazy, hot days of summer.
