Seattle Boat Parade!

We went on another adventure this last Saturday to see the Seattle boat parade! It was highly recommended to us by Jeff's dad and others in the area.  It is always the first weekend in May - come rain or shine. It is a parade to announce the opening of boating season! It's a boat parade - just what you would imagine.  Boats coming down in order - some decorated like floats in a regular parade would be! We saw some neat boats - Cool old fashioned ones and big yachts. The parade was along the Montlake Cut by the University of Washington. It is a pretty area with a long shoreline - perfect for viewing a parade! We packed everything up and loaded it around and set up to sit and have a picnic along the shore and watch the boats.

The University of Washington had a part in the parade! They were so fun!

It was drizzling on and off - which maybe helped with the crowds. We had great viewing where we were. Jeff and Brielle sat together eating chips and salsa. :)

Later, when it got rainy, Jeff pulled out his Fidelity umbrella.  He's always advertising! ha ha.

Brielle liked the view from up high.

Jeff dreams of owning this yacht one day.... ha!

Then came the themed boats. The theme for the parade was "Toys Ahoy!" and they were all decorated around that theme.  Some of theme were really clever!

Jeff liked this one the best I think:

We had a great time.  By the end it was pouring rain, so we headed home.  It was a fun, unique experience, and the girls did so great!
