We had a fabulous weekend with this crew! (+Jeff taking the picture!)
We went on a downtown adventure to Seafair in Seattle. They had navy ships docked on the pier and we got to tour this one! It was the Guided-Missile Cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52). It is a working navy ship, stationed in San Diego. The crew members gave us a tour of the ship and told us all about the missiles and guns on it. It is intense! I had no idea how technical our warfare has become, it was absolutely fascinating. We all felt quite patriotic after that...we have the best military in the world!
We took a crowded bus downtown to get there...
Here's a huge gun...(I'm not talking about Jeff's muscles). :)
Here's Jeff in the Captain's Chair. He might be switching careers for that chair!
We went to Ivar's Seafood to eat some lunch along the pier. It was surrounded by seagulls and we had fun throwing french fries and seeing them do all sorts of acrobatics to catch a french fry! Here's Claire feeding one out of her hand....
Jeff and I went the next day to a park on Mercer Island and watched the Blue Angels air show. It was incredible! There were 6 of them and they did some amazing tricks in the air. It was wonderful! Again, we felt quite patriotic seeing our military in performance! :)
