There's a tradition in my house that the birthday boy/girl has to wear a crown.... here he is in all his Birthday glory!
HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!!
We celebrated all weekend. Here are a few things that we did:
Friday night I threw a surprise birthday party for Jeff and invited a bunch of his coworkers over. His friend he works with has the same birthday, so we threw a joint party.
After dinner they were kidnapped, blindfolded and brought to our home!
There is just something so fun about surprising someone...that excited feeling right before they discover the surprise is something you just can't replicate! Love it!
We thought it would be fun to have a "child's" birthday party like we had in the good 'ole days. :) We decorated the house with birthday boy decorations and even had goody bags with candy and toys in them. We went outside and played with a home-made pinata!
We then played musical chairs in the backyard which was absolutely hilarious. We then tied balloons around our ankles and had to pop everyone else's without getting ours popped. I took a video that is attached at the end of this post. It is funny to see "grown men" playing these games!
We then played "Pin The Tail On The Donkey." What a funny game, where did it come from?
Saturday Jeff played basketball with his buddies while I had my play rehearsal. We then went to lunch at Olive Garden (Jeff's favorite restaurant). I had to go to the RS Broadcast, so I surprised him with a ticket to go see Wall Street which just opened in movie theaters. Perfect!
Sunday I invited friends from our ward to come over and have some cake and ice cream together. It was fun to have people come over to our home (we love that!), and celebrating the great (old) man Jeff is!
They say 30 is the new 20....we'll see!
