........are great things brought to pass.
I don't have anything amazing to blog about...so I thought I would just blog about the simple things going on in our life right now that make our life great.

Warning: this is a very random blog post, and each picture and caption don't have anything to do with each other. So don't bother trying to connect the dots. :)

The home purchase is coming along.....we've gone through all the steps and are just waiting right now for what to do next. The inspection looked great, and everything seems to be moving forward! We are going to close on June 14th. Our apartment contract is up in July, so we'll probably just move in slowly. I can't believe what perfect timing this is.....we are just feeling really blessed by now. We drive by it all the time, and I wonder if any of the neighbors recognize our car?? :)
We are accepting donations for our down payment fund....make checks payable to myself. Ha ha.

Jeff got to go to a Rangers game on Wednesday night with his co-workers because they met their sales goal last month. He has been to several Rangers and Mavericks games for company perks..... I always ask him if spouses are invited..... :) I'm still waiting for the day when I get to go. I do a lot to support him and cheer him on to reach his goals! Ha ha.

The Artisan Center Theater where I work is performing Oklahoma for the next 2 months. Cute show. Click
here for an article on my theater that just came out in the papers.

2 weeks ago I bought tickets to see Iron Man 2 for Jeff as a surprise. Isn't that a great wifely thing to do?? I didn't tell him where we were going, and put him in the car to drive to my surprise destination. Well, the directions I had on the internet and GPS were for the old location of the movie theater.....so we got lost. We finally made it there and walked in to the theater just as the movie was going to start....but it was opening weekend, which means we sat in the front of the theater with our necks cranked up. :) But it was a good movie, I recommend it, and I win brownie points for being the best wife ever.

Another movie we saw recently is this one: Diary of a wimpy kid. It was at the dollar theater, and so we thought we'd give it a try. We both really enjoyed it, and it reminded me of the awkward middle school years. Ah, the awkward stage when popularity was all that mattered. It is a great family movie, and worth seeing. It got great ratings, and the theater was packed!
ISN'T JEFF AMAZING!?!!

Well, yes, Jeff IS amazing, but he didn't get me these flowers. :)
Tricked you, didn't I?
I actually won these on Thursday! I attend the Chamber Of Commerce luncheons every month for the theater, and every time they have a drawing at the end for a few door prizes. And this time I won a dozen roses! I have never had a dozen roses before, and I can't stop staring at them. I don't know if there is anything prettier than a full bouquet of roses! I never knew what I was missing. They are just incredible! Watch out Jeff, I think this is going to have to be an anniversary gift from now on! Ha ha.

I really love flowers. I think I am most excited to buy a home for the chance to have a garden and have plants. I am so excited for that! I grew up with a mom with a green thumb, and want to be like her. I have a lot of learning to do, and am excited to have a home with a garden in the back!

I've been watching the show GLEE on Fox lately. Anyone else like it? I think it is pretty fun. It is about a group of highschoolers in the Glee Club. They sing a bunch of songs, and always perform some amazing numbers each show. It brings me back to my high school days when I was in SwingSingers. Ah, good times. The show is pretty cute. I've heard it is not too clean at times, I haven't seen all of the episodes....but what I have seen has been fun.

Mary Poppins is taking over my life! I teach 3 musical theater classes at the theater, and one of them is a production class. They are performing
Mary Poppins. The kids are working hard, we had a 4 hour rehearsal on Saturday. They perform at the end of the month, and I'm excited for it! Recitals are the last week of May, and it is taking over my thoughts at the moment.
Last week I participated in a Fine Arts Day at an elementary school nearby. I taught theater games to 6 sessions of kids from 8am to 3pm. It was a lot of fun to introduce kids to theater and just play with them. I never knew I would like teaching so much, and wonder if I should have gotten a theater teaching degree? Hmmmm, might have to go back to school. :)

My church calling has kept me busy....I'm in the Young Women's Presidency. I took my 12 & 13 year old girls out for ice cream after the activity wednesday night and it was just really fun to observe them talk and interact with each other. I feel old and forget that I am not their age. I am amazed at how different life is now for them than it was for me. They have cell phones and pop culture conversations that I know nothing about. Since when am I the adult? The other thing I noticed was how pre-occupied they were with their weight and how "fat" they think they are. Now, let me just tell you, I don't think any of these girls were over 80 pounds. :) None of them were "fat." It was sad to hear them talk that way and made me think of the way the media portrays women. But that's a soap box for another time.

Jeff and I really like the new You Tube videos put out by the church lately. You can find them at this website:

or click
here to watch one right now! There are some very well done movies that are great to watch on a Sunday afternoon.

I started listening to Dennis Prager on the radio 2 years ago....He is a conservative talk show host. I still hear him when I can and have Jeff hooked on him too. I think he has a lot of wisdom and like to hear his opinion on current events. He started a website with some videos on it that teach some of his points on life and politics. I've seen a couple of them and thought they were insightful. He might say a few things I don't completely agree with, but for the most part, I think he is very right. Click
here to watch a video or just go to this website sometime:

We are grateful for all the little things that make up a great life! Just thought I'd share a few things that make our day to day life just fabulous. :)
