We're trying to be fancy folk ;-)

Laura and I had a nice night out in Downtown Dallas last night as the BYU Management Society was holding their Gala and I have been thinking about joining and being involved. It's always fun to dress up and feel like a big wig! (ha ha) The owners of Laura's theater where she works were there so that was fun for me to spend some time with them and also meet some neat business professionals in the DFW area.
The keynote speaker was Jeff Benedict ... this was a nice presentation to hear and if you are wondering "who is Jeff Benedict?" then look a few blog postings down and I just finished one of his books "the mormon way of doing business." We were asked to help him at his table for book signings after the event so we got to talk a little more to him and he gave Laura and I a free book from his other selections. I got "Building a business Warren Buffet would buy" about the RC Willey story and how Warren Buffet liked it so much he bought the company. It's a Utah furniture store, but most I'm sure know that. ;-) Then he picked Laura's book for her and said "You're going to want to read this one, 'The little pink house'". If any of you are wondering what that is about just look up the news recently on Pfizer pulling the plug on their new office complex in New London Connecticut after they had already forced hundreds of people out of their homes and demolished them under eminent domain. We had a nice evening and I am excited to be involved when time allows with the Alumni network and Mgt. Society.
